Here are some more of my award winning images from the recent Epson Queensland Professional Photography Awards. These images were captured while I was living in Europe throughout 2009. During the year, as well as enjoying history revealing her stories before me, I developed a fascination with lines, form, shapes and repetition. And of course the characters I met and observed.

A wet, bleak day in November was perfect conditions to photograh the Philharmonie in Luxembourg. I loved this building as it encouraged me to deliberately look outside my normal range of view and notice lines, shapes and textures. I entered this image in the Landscape category and received a Silver with Distinction Award.

In Italy, old friends get together in the cool of each evening to sit, chat and watch the world go by. I suspect the same friends have been meeting in the same place for decades. These two images above are from the medieval Tuscan town of Siena and won two Silver Awards in the Portrait category. These images just say so much about life!
