Lyon France from Fourvière Hill by Master photographer John Reyment, Gold award at 2009 Canon APPA's

The tragedy of the Queensland Floods is something that has touched us all. Friends, family members, people we work with; everyone knows someone who has been affected by the magnitude of these floods.

This weekend, the Australian Institute of Professional Photography Queensland Division is hosting the annual Hair of the Dog (HOTD), a fabulous seminar event where photographers can network with leading professionals, learn from a diverse range of international and local speakers and come away inspired and challenged.

This year a unique event has been added to the program; a Print Auction with all proceeds going towards the ‘Premiers Flood Relief Appeal’. AIPP Masters of Photography and HOTD speakers have been invited to donate a print to be auctioned. There will be a live auction as well as a silent auction this Saturday the 5th February 2011.

I am delighted to donate the image above.  It was taken while I home exchanged in Europe with my family in 2009, two months of which were in Lyon. This view of Lyon was taken from Fourvière Hill, a place I visited often and is one of my favourites. This image won a Gold Award at the 2009 Canon APPA’s.

Get along to the print auction this Saturday, this is a unique opportunity to purchase a print from Australia’s best photographers and support  those who have been affected by the Queensland Floods.
