Are you a shoe fiend? How many pairs of shoes do you have in your wardrobe?

Choosing wedding shoes must be a real dilemma for brides, how does one choose what to wear?

My wife has all sorts of shoes, I’m always amused by her “drop me at the restaurant, go park the car” shoes. Clearly, these would be no good for a wedding. As a wedding photographer, I get to see heaps of bridal shoes. Bridal shoes need to be so many things. They have to:

  • be the right look and work with your gown and other accessories.
  • be comfortable as you’ll spend heaps of time on your feet on your wedding day.
  • be the right height for you and your partner, they can give you a step up if your groom is tall or should be flat if you are taller.
  • be great to dance in at your wedding reception.

Perhaps most importantly, in your wedding shoes you will take your first steps in your married life accompanied by the one you love.

Here’s a top tip for dreaded sore feet. On your wedding day, have two pairs of shoes, one for the wedding and another pair for your wedding reception. Before your wedding, drop off your reception shoes to the function manager and ask them to put them in the cold room. Why? At your reception, you’ll be able to put on your “frozen shoes” they will instantly soothe your feet and feel fantastic.

How will you choose your wedding shoes? What style are you looking for?
