We made a trip to Melbourne in June and instead of heading out to the farm in country Victoria to visit family, we stayed in the city as we had a few business meetings scheduled.
I took the opportunity to go for a wonder with my camera and explore, here are a few urban landscape images from that walk.
Some random facts from our trip:
- We enjoyed five consecutive sunny days something I had never experienced before in Melbourne. Maximums were about 16 degrees C.
- Our taxi fare from Tullamarine to Hotel Windsor in the city was $55.00.
- The Cricketer’s Bar in the Hotel Windsor always had a crowd late at night.
- The City Circle Tram is fabulous for tourists, shoppers and families to get around the CBD. It takes about 48 minutes to do a loop, a great opportunity to rest your feet.
- The Hotel Windsor heritage staircase railings are lower than the height specified in today’s building code. Perhaps Australians were shorter way back in 1883.
- As usual, I ate too much enjoying food from a range of Melbourne’s fabulous restaurants.
