I only met Rebecca and Simon a month before their wedding. They had a last-minute change of heart and decided to book a different wedding photographer: me! We got along like old friends, bonding over their recent and my upcoming trips to San Francisco and New York… I’m super thankful for all their tips!

Their wedding day came around quickly and I was so excited to see them on their big day. These guys wanted a day surrounded by friends and family, and the favourite pastime of basketball had to feature in the day! Little Dougie was in his element shooting hoops (with a little help from the bigger boys!) and I just loved the touch of the fellas wearing their purple custom Nikes!

Then it was off to see the lady-folk at Medina Executive… what a view! The Story Bridge and Brisbane City were on display for us and just spectacular! Rebecca just shone with those mesmerising blue eyes, and she was keen to sit back with the girls and enjoy her day. All the girls looked fab (love those grey dresses!), but a special mention needs to go to little Josie, who helped me out with photographing the girls’ formals: thanks Josie!

To continue their theme of unforgettable views, it was off to Aqua Linea at Teneriffe for the ceremony. The Brissie River was behaving itself and posed wonderfully for my camera, though the stiff breeze could have been more friendly to Bec’s veil. Friends were very involved in the plans for the day, too. Lisa made the gorgeous cake (complete with purple icing decorations!), and Joji made sweet musak for the ceremony and reception.

What a day! I certainly had more than enough fun with this wedding, so I can only imagine that the party well and truly carried on after I left. Rebecca & Simon, thank you so very much. Your wedding was amazing, and I can’t wait to show you all the photos in the New Year!
