Provence! I must go back. It took me three visits to France to make my way there, and I feel, one day, I must visit again. I stayed in the tiny village of Venterol, with a population of just a couple of hundred people, 5km from Nyons. The region is known for olives, wine and of course lavender. I missed the lavender season by a couple of months; all those pesky tourists had gone, I had the windy, village roads pretty much to myself. Highlights for me and must see towns are Nyons, Avignon, Mt Ventoux, Brantes, Aix-en-Provence, Dieulefit and Poet-Laval. Of course the wine and the olives are to die for. Provence is so diverse and has so much to offer. Don’t think about it, just go!
