So you’ve got yourself a digital camera, perhaps something with a Canon or Nikon badge on it. Congratulations, welcome to the world of photography! Did you know that digital SLR cameras are one of the fastest selling electronic goods on the market today?

Have a look at the dials on your camera, especially the one with all the modes on it. Have you set it to the green square or another of the “camera does everything” modes?

Dream of taking better pictures? Sure you do! Now take a spin to the M setting, this is where it all gets interesting!

M is for manual, the land of controlling all the settings yourself. Just as a fabulous home cook adjusts a recipe to suit their taste and their oven, setting your ISO, shutter speed and aperture for the creative control you want is what real photographers do.

Now if you want to really begin to fly with your photography, come to my digital photography workshop on Sunday the 3rd June.  It’s going to be heaps of fun.

I’ll teach you the settings needed to take landscapes like this…

Brantes, France

and this…

landscape photography

I’ll teach you how to take food photos like this…

food photography

We’ll chat about story telling tips so you can seek out real life travel photos like this:

Italian village

and compose images with drama like this…

Paris

We’ll talk architecture and look for images in the built environment like this…

GOMA

and this…

architecture photography

We’ll practice creative use of shutter speed to give you dramatically different results like these shots of Craig Lowndes at Bathurst…

V8 Supercars, Bathurst, Craig Lowndes

and panning techniques so you can take photos in camera like this…

Of course light is important in photography, I’ll share how to “see the light”.

What’s even better, our workshop is hands-on so you’ll be practicing these techniques and heaps more at the workshop.

I have a maximum of 12 people on each workshop so I can give you the attention you need.

Sharing fabulous photos with your family and friends is a buzz, if you want to be able to take better photos every time you use your camera, come to my workshop!
