This was always going to be a beautiful wedding. From the moment when I first met John and Kate, their wedding plans for a personal intimate day surrounded by family and friends promised an event not to be missed.

The wedding was at John’s parents property at Cambooya, about half an hour from Toowoomba. Rain the day before gave way to sunny skies on the morning of the wedding. I visited John and his family in the morning as they were finalising venue preparations. Meanwhile Kate prepared at Vacy Hall, an historic guest house right in the heart of Toowoomba. The Powder Room were in charge of hair and makeup, all the ladies looked fabulous. Kate’s gown was by Wendy Makin Bridal Designs. Images with Kate, her bridesmaids and family around Vacy Hall complete, it was time to head back to Cambooya again for the ceremony.

Introducing two gorgeous ring bearers, Bayley and Maddie, Kate and John’s labradors. The wedding rings were securely tied to their collars (John made sure just before the wedding).  Guests congratulated Kate and John before joining them for champagne and wedding cake on the lawn.

The wedding shoot was lots of fun. Our locations included the back paddock at John’s parents place and Park where John “borrowed” some balloons from a kid’s party.  Queen’s Park looked magnificent as it was the weekend before the Toowooomba Carnival of Flowers, we caught some late afternoon sun. Stops at the Toowoomba railway station and Vacy Hall and it was time to join guests at Gips Restaurant for the reception.

Guests dined with Kate and John at Gips Restaurant, the food was delicious. Cath and her team at Gips did a wonderful job on the reception.

Kate and John, congratulations and best wishes to you both, your wedding day was truly special and it was a privilege to be your wedding photographer. See you in the studio soon to design your beautiful album.
