Paris, je t’aime!

Paris, arguably the worlds most iconic city, a mecca for tourists, fashion, foodies, lovers.  I have been there 5 times over the years, some vists have been just a few hours while passing through, others have been for a few weeks at a time.  Each visit is momentous though, it really is one of those cities.

Over the last couple of weeks, Paris has featured on Aussie TV screens, Masterchef Australia has had a cooking challenge overlooking the Notre-Dame there.  Last night, ABC1 aired the first episode in the series Greatest Cities of the World with Griff Rhys Jones.  You guessed it, Paris was featured.  As I watched the documentary, I saw the streets I had walked, I heard the sounds I had heard and felt the emotions I had felt while living in Paris.

The image above is from the top of Montparnasse, 56 stories above the street.  From this level, you can see stunning views of Paris in all directions.  In just 38 seconds, Europe’s fastest elevator will take you to a height of 196 meters.  Spot every one of Paris’s landmarks and major attractions including the Eiffel Tower, Les Invalides, Sacré Coeur, Musée d’Orsay, the Arc de Triomphe, the Panthéon, the Louvre and the Luxembourg garden.
