Wedding days are a most special day in every couple’s life. There is one serious problem with wedding days and almost every couple I photograph mentions it. A wedding day just goes too quick. I remember my wedding day, I felt like I had just arrived at the reception and it was time to begin saying our good-byes. Perhaps there is a scientific reason why really happy days seem to pass quicker than normal days, that’s a question for Dr Karl.
Kate and Michael had an awesome wedding day; they were married at St Stephen’s Cathedral, one of my favourite Brisbane city wedding venues before they joined guests at Victoria Park Golf Club for their wedding reception. Married on the last day of the Brisbane EKKA, we did something out of the ordinary and went to the EKKA for some of their photo shoot.
Kate was keen to wear her wedding dress again after we chatted about an Encore photo shoot. With all the wedding planing that goes into making the perfect wedding, being able to wear your wedding dress just once seems well, sad.
“Encore” photo shoot, isn’t’ that just another name for a “Trash the Dress” shoot? I like to think of the Encore shoot as exactly that, an opportunity to put on your wedding dress again and be photographed in a way that is different to your wedding day. An Encore shoot offers more flexibly in location, styling and action, you certainly don’t have to be all glam at the end of it and go to a wedding reception.
If you feel your wedding dress is just too precious to paint it, cut it, tear it, stain it, or trash it, our Encore shoot is perfect, all your dress will need is a dry clean.
Kate has always loved the beach having spent many family holidays there so it was off to the beach we went. I particularly love the grass at the top of the dunes and the opportunities it gives. And there is the water… beckoning. We must have been a sight, Kate having a swim in her wedding dress, me balancing on my ladder in the surf!
Kate, I hope you enjoy this sneak peek at a few of the images, I’m sure Michael is going to love them all! See you in the studio one day soon…
