What were you doing on Friday the 3rd September? This day was a very special day; I was privileged to share it with Marcus and Masami, a gorgeous couple who had commissioned me to be their wedding photographer.

The day started with Marcus enjoying a relaxing drink or two with some mates at the Waterloo Hotel. Meanwhile, Masami and her bridesmaid Sanae (straight off the plane from Japan that morning) prepared at home. Marcus and Masami’s home was the perfect backdrop for photos and there was plenty of room for family to get ready.

The Holy Spirit Catholic Church at 16 Villiers Street New Farm was the church Marcus and Masami had chosen for their wedding, Rev Leo Coote would be conducting the ceremony. A gentle breeze greeted guests as they arrived; there was no chance of forecast showers this afternoon.

Hugs and kisses on the steps of the church, family photos out of the wind and then time to head off as a bridal party for photos. Our destinations were New Farm Park, The Powerhouse, and River-walk before joining guest at the Emporium Hotel for the reception.

Arriving at the wedding reception is always a special event. Masami changed into a kimono before joining guests for pre-dinner drinks. During pre-dinner drinks, there were lots of laughs and guest photos with Marcus and Masami; I reckon there were more cameras in the room than guests!

Darren Besgrove and his front of house team at the Emporium Hotel had set the room to look magnificent and be perfect for guests, judging by the menu, head chef Scott Andrews and his chefs in the kitchen would ensure guests were in for a fantastic night of fine food.

Of course a wedding day does come to an end, everyone goes home and the day is but a memory. Marcus, Masami, our congratulations to you both, see you in our Studio/Gallery to view the photos real soon.
