bride and groom at Stamford Hotel, Brisbane
It was a very happy weekend for me, a rare weekend off; time to spend with family and friends.

On Sunday, I received two Facebook messages from past clients that brought a big smile to my face. The first was from Van and Linda; I had photographed their wedding more than ten years ago, life is going well for them, they now have a couple of adorable kids.

Hi John, just stopping by to say hello! It’s been over a decade since you took our pictures and we celebrated our 10th wedding last October! We’re happily married and now have 2 gorgeous kids! We are still one of your greatest fans and LOVE, LOVE your work!  🙂 Thanks for the beautiful memories which we still enjoy today!

Cheers, Van & Linda

The second message was from Lisa-Marie and Shawn, their wedding was almost seven years ago, as it turns out, they are now living not far from us.

It has been 7 years next week, since Shawn and I said I do and John Reyment, captured that moment on film.

He is truly a talented and gifted photographer. When you have John capturing your wedding day, not only do you get beautiful photographic memories, you also get another bridesmaid. John knew all the tricks for putting on a strapless gown without having half your face end up on it. He captured all those unposed moments, in such beautiful detail, that 7 years on when I look at our album, I am transported back to that day and remember the private moments Shawn and I shared and the Cheeseburger I had to get from Maccas because I was starving. John captured it all!

My words can not do John’s work justice, so check out his website. I can’t wait for him to take my professional author photos for my up and coming book.

Thank you John x

Both Linda and Lisa-Marie’s messages shared how much they are still enjoying their wedding photos years later and how precious they have become.

And this got me thinking…how special is it to be a couple’s wedding photographer? As I set out each wedding day, excited about the day ahead, I’m humbled to know that the images I’m about to capture will be treasured for many years ahead. In this day and age, I suspect there are not too many “jobs” out there that bring such long term happiness to clients.

Linda, Lisa-Marie, thanks so much for your kind words, you have made my day.
